Uncovering the stories behind places
Award-winning travel journalist, former senior editor at National Geographic Travel Publishing, and author of multiple books. Available for writing assignments, editing, and speaking engagements.
Why I do the work
The world's most interesting destinations aren't defined by their landmarks alone. They're shaped by history, culture, art, memory, and the people who call them home. For more than three decades—as a National Geographic editor and award-winning travel journalist—I've sought out those deeper stories, helping readers see familiar places in unexpected ways.
